Silica gel has strong adsorption capacity, and its composition is safe and reliable. It can be used as drying and moistureproof agent for medicines, food, electronic appliances, clothing, shoes and bags, precision equipment and military products. 

In addition to absorbing moisture to prevent drying, it can display different colors according to the change of environmental humidity to prompt that the humidity exceeds the standard and the desiccant should be changed in time. It is usually used in product package with high environmental requirements. Most of the high-end electronics, instruments and equipment such as electronic components and precision optical components, are easily affected by moisture, which leads to product corrosion, sensitivity reduction and even irrecoverable damage. In order to prevent the product from being eroded and damaged by moisture, most products use humidity indicating silica gel to detect the ambient humidity. 

In the fine chemical industry and petrochemical industry, silica gel can be used as catalyst in bonding of different precious metals and other substances for catalytic cracking. It can be also directly used as catalyst in the production of melamine. Silica gel can be made into a variety of combinations with different pore sizes and specific surface according to the bonding requirements to meet the catalyst requirements. 

It is mainly used for air drying and purification in the process of air separation, pressure swing adsorption to remove CO2 (PSA), separation of light hydrocarbon from natural gas, dew point reduction of hydrocarbon and production of natural gas and gasoline while drying natural gas.
